Copper in the medical industry
For medical technology, copper is an indispensable material and a key factor for improving the quality of life of every individual. In a hospital environment, copper tubes are used for the distribution of oxygen and other medical gases, while rolled products made of special copper alloys are being used more and more in the making of electronic components for state-of-the-art medical diagnostic machines.
About our products
The tubes are specially designed for medical gas supply equipment and for the production of vacuum installations. The straight length tubes characterized by a smooth, dry and particularly clean internal surface that comply with European standards for the distribution of medical gases and for vacuum installations. They are sealed at both ends to ensure that the inner surfaces remain clean until the moment they are installed. In our line of tubes for sanitary plumbing and heating systems, we also supply tubes for the distribution of oxygen and medical gases that comply with both European standards and national standards. They are registered trademark tubes supplied in straight lengths and coils with sealed ends that are completely impermeable to gases, are UV resistant, and have perfectly clean internal surfaces which have been degreased to remove all lubricating oil residue in order to prevent spontaneous combustion.
The operation of the most sophisticated medical-diagnostic equipment requires an increasing amount of electronic components and therefore more copper-based connectors. Consequently, the medical instrument industry is becoming one of the more important fields of application for connectors, which is expected to grow substantially over the next five years.
We supply connector strips made of special alloys that are highly suited for this type of application.
